CMA-CGM in Halmstad

The French container company CMA-CGM is from September calling Halmstad on a regular and weekly basis. The Port of Halmstad is on the same route as Le Havre and Rotterdam.
Port of Halmstad is connected to Lloyds register - Fairplay

Port of Halmstad is now connected to Lloyds register - Fairplay. AIS is a shortening for Automatic Identification System. An antenna and receiver has been installed in the port and the equipment communicates with Lloyds Register. The information can be reached by companys who is subscribers of the service.

Stena Recycling starts a new railway shuttle to the Port of Halmstad.

Since the beginning of September railway waggons from Volvo Olofström with scrap metal is transported to the Port of Halmstad for Stena Recycling.

New cranes in Port of Halmstad
2007-07-04
Halmstad Port and Stevedoring Co has invested in two new cranes. One Mantsinen 140 RHC with a lifting capacity of 15 tons and one Liebherr LHM 400 with a lifting capacity of 100 tons.
This investment is a part of a programme to improve further the Ports service level towards cargo owners, ship owners, agents and forwarders.

Boatman is compulsory in Port of Halmstad
2007-06-20
Starting July 1st , 2007, boatmen are compulsory for vessels with a length more than 75 meters arriving at the Port of Halmstad.

This decision is taken in order to eliminate any risks for damages or injuries in connection with mooring on arrival.

Dangerous situations when crew is jumping ashore can be avoided if boatmen are used.
